Specimen Requirement
0.5 mL urine is required.
Additional Specimen Collection Information
Collect a random urine specimen in a sterile container. No preservative is required. Label the specimen appropriately with two identifiers, patient name and another identifier, (patient ID number, DOB, etc.) include date and time of collection. Store the urine specimen refrigerated and transport to the lab within 48 hours.
Performance
Testing is performed Monday through Sunday.
Typically completed within 4 hours; Mercy DV and MA West within 24 hours

Reference values are not established for random urine specimens. Results are subject to interpretation by the clinician.
