Specimen Requirement

0.5 mL urine is required.

Additional Specimen Collection Information

Collect a timed urine specimen, 24 hour preferred. 10 mL of 6N HCl is required as a preservative. Keep specimen chilled during the collection period. Submit entire specimen for analysis. Store the urine specimen refrigerated and transport to the lab within 48 hours.

Performance

Testing is performed Monday through Sunday.

Typically assayed within 2 hours after the specimen arrives at the testing site.

Males: 25-300 mg/24 hours

Females: 20-275 mg/24 hours
