Specimen Requirement
0.5 mL of serum. Gel tubes are preferred.

Collection Instructions:
- Minimum volume: 500 mcL
- Hemolysis: Samples with hemolysis >2+ are not acceptable
- Lipemia: Samples with lipemia >3+ must be ultracentrifuged prior to analysis
- Icterus: No interference
- Storage: Stable for up to 7 days at 2-8°C.

Useful For
Anti-Chromatin is a diagnostic marker for SLE with a reported sensitivity of up to 86% and is also encountered in some patients with Mixed Connective Tissue Disease. Anti-Chromatin antibodies are more often positive in SLE patients than anti-dsDNA using the Bioplex ANA Screen. Anti-Chromatin antibodies may also be detected in patients with Drug Induced Lupus.
